Inkjet Printer Maintenance (1): Pre & Post-Use Checks

Standard Operating Procedures for Inkjet Printing Machine

I. Pre-start Inspection

  1. Check that the power supply, ground wire and voltage stabilizer work properly. Do not share the power supply with cutting machines or welding machines.
  2. Verify sufficient ink, solvent and cleaning fluid.
  3. Inspect ink tubes, connectors and ink sacs for air leakage, ink leakage or flattening.
  4. Clear paper scraps and dust from the worktable; check pinch rollers and fabric feed rollers.
  5. Ensure the raster strip and raster decoder are clean.

II. Startup & Printing Operation

  1. After power-on, wait for the machine to finish self-check and the carriage to return to its home position.
  2. Print a test strip to check for missing nozzles, color loss, deflection and ink splashing.
  3. Load the material squarely with proper tension to avoid deviation, wrinkling and nozzle scratching.
  4. Adjust parameters according to different materials:

    (1) Suction power

    (2) Front and rear heating & drying temperature

    (3) Printing speed, feathering and pass count
  5. During printing:

    (1) Do not touch the material with hands.

    (2) Monitor for position deviation, nozzle scratching and ink interruption.

    (3) Pause printing immediately once ink supply fails; do not continue printing.

III. Standard Shutdown Procedure (Critical)

  1. Stop printing and wait for the carriage to return to the capping station.
  2. Gently wipe the nozzle surface and wiper blade with cleaning fluid and lint-free cloth.
  3. Confirm the nozzles are tightly sealed against the capping station.
  4. Turn off the heating system. Shut down the main power only after the temperature drops.
  5. Cover the machine with a dust cloth.
